Kara was born and raised in Norman, Oklahoma where she also attended the University of Oklahoma. In 2009, she graduated from OU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History where she focused her studies on Early Modern British History. Kara then attended OU College of Law and graduated with her Juris Doctorate in 2012.

Since her admission to the Oklahoma Bar in September 2012, Kara has centered her practice on insurance defense and general civil litigation. While Kara has focused on insurance defense, she also has experience in business litigation, general civil litigation, family law and appellate practice.

Kara currently resides in the Norman area with her husband, Jeff, and their two children, Penny and Ray.
