OU Law leadership visits PCH

On February 28, 2020, PCH hosted Dean Kathleen Guzman, Dean of Students, Laura Palk, and Camal Pennington from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. The group spoke about preparations for the incoming 1L class (Class of 2023) and the efforts the law school is making to have a diverse group of students from a variety of undergraduate universities and backgrounds. The group also discussed the law school’s fund raising efforts, including the new Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher Fund:

Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher was a leading activist, attorney and educator who fought to become the first African American student admitted to OU Law in 1949. Her landmark case opened higher education to African American students in the state of Oklahoma and paved the way for national desegregation. In honor of the 70th anniversary of her law school admission, the College of Law wishes to honor her through an endowed award by establishing a fund in the Foundation to accept contributions from multiple donors. The fund will be used to elevate an existing or prospective faculty member to the highest academic award available to a professor through what is known as an endowed professorship or chair.
